IMEÜBLE by BJØRN JØRUND BLIKSTAD
Called Imeüble, the completed piece is made up of a series of modular and brightly colored shelves and Blikstad believes that the 3D nature of his design will help people to easily remember exactly where they have put their documents, books and whatever else they need to store. “I’m interested in storage. Everyone wants to make beautiful chairs, but there hasn’t been that much innovation in ways of storing things.” He certainly has a point, and I definitely think he’s on the right track with this excellent design.

Yayoi Kusama - Obliteration Room
A dotty 82-year-old Japanese artist has created an artwork by getting children to decorate a totally white room with thousands of colourful spots.
Yayoi Kusama says she created her 'Obliteration Room' work as a way of getting visiting children to engage with an art gallery space.
As part of 'Look Now, See Forever' at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art a large room has been decorated like an apartment, but one which was entirely painted white.
But it didn't stay that way for long, because the kids were handed brighlty coloured stickers and told to redecorate as they saw fit.
The result -- which took two weeks to complete -- is a random plethora of multi-coloured polka dots and will be on display until March 12.

New York City Trash Upcycled
Carlo Sampietro is an environmentally concerned artisan who repurposes what he literally finds in the street into industrial chic furniture. A plastic traffic barrel, for instance, becomes a Cloche Chair (with a light-up base) when Carlo Sampietro reinvents “thrown away stuff” from New York City Streets and conjures up his “street is in the house” line of furniture and accessories. He also incorporates old Police barriers, mailboxes, and even used newspaper and magazine holders into vintage chic tables, aquariums, and even dishwashers!

Zimoun «Sculpting Sound» : The Ringling Museum of Art
Using simple and functional components, Zimoun builds architecturally-minded platforms of sound. Exploring mechanical rhythm and flow in prepared systems, his installations incorporate commonplace industrial objects. In an obsessive display of curiously collected material, these works articulate a tension between the orderly patterns of Modernism and the chaotic forces of life. Carrying an emotional depth, the acoustic hum of natural phenomena blends effortlessly with electric reverberation in Zimoun's minimalist constructions.
